Help deliver the best partnership support for families in our communities

1st August 2024

Dorset Council was selected last year by the Government to be one of only three pathfinder organisations to design major reforms to children’s services, from family help to the edge of care, and to make sure these changes work well for families. This programme is known as Families First for Children (FFC)

Dorset’s Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly is extremely pleased to be partnering with our colleagues at Dorset Council in the development of the Family First for Children Pathfinder programme in Dorset. Together we are helping to shape the future of community support for Families in the Dorset Council area. The Assembly will be facilitating the involvement and contribution of the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in this programme, bringing together the innovation, creativity, and local expertise of the VCS as a vital foundation for the success of this work.

How you can get involved

There are several grant opportunities now available for VCS groups and organisations, who are already working with families in Dorset, to become providers as part of this programme.

You are invited to apply for these and help deliver the best partnership support for families in our communities.

Click here to view the details of this work and the grants on offer.

The deadline to apply for these opportunities is 8th September 2024.

Assembly Support for Inclusion

We want to enable a wide range of VCS groups and organisations to be able to contribute to this work and the Assembly is on hand to help find support if you need help with preparing applications.

If this opportunity interests you and you’d like to know more, we will be running two online sessions where you can find out about the programme and the opportunities available.

These will happen on Teams on the following dates.

21st August 2024:  2pm-4pm
27th August 2024: 10am-12pm

We are also happy to arrange an individual 1-to-1 conversation if you would find that helpful.

If you’d like to receive an invite to the Teams workshops or would like to arrange a 1-to-1, then please email us.

We’d love to hear from you.

Induction Session for Everyone

We are also pleased to invite you to an Induction Session on Monday 30th September 2024.

The session will provide an overview of the whole National FFCP Programme and how it is working in Dorset.

This is for ANYONE who might be interested in learning more about how the whole Pathfinder programmes is developing.

Please book your place via this link Families First for Children Pathfinder VCS Induction

Do let us know if you have any questions.
We look forward to hearing from you.
