Promoting Collaboration in the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS)
We achieve more when we work together. At Dorset VCSA (voluntary and community sector assembly), we connect voluntary sector groups, and public sector partners to drive real change. By fostering collaboration, we help organisations share resources, unlock funding, and deliver greater impact for Dorset’s communities.
We make collaboration easier by:
- Creating Connections – We bring organisations together, opening doors to partnerships that strengthen the voluntary sector.
- Facilitating Meaningful Conversations – We create spaces for dialogue, bringing together smaller charities, community and faith groups, and larger VCS organisations to explore ways to work together.
- Shaping Fairer Funding – We advocate for partnership-led commissioning, ensuring local organisations have time and support to collaborate.
- Supporting a Partnership Approach to Commissioning – We advocate for fairer commissioning processes that support voluntary sector organisations in working together, offering longer tendering timescales, outcome-based funding models, and sustainable financial support that strengthens the sector in the long term.
Trust and fairness are at the heart of what we do. We don’t compete for funding—we facilitate opportunities, ensuring all voices are heard.
Together, we can build a stronger, more connected voluntary sector that makes a lasting difference. Join us in shaping a more collaborative future.
